Overview:
Flexstone is Canada’s premier coating manufacturer. Their sundeck and flat roof coating system is composed of a thick base coat and the customers’ choice of UV stable finish coats. Flexstone lasts a life time, even in Canada’s harshest climates. It is designed to withstand heavy traffic – even vehicular. Flexstone has been trusted in British Columbia for over 20 years and continues to grow as a reliable common-sense solution to waterproof resurfacing problems.
Applications:
Flexstone, although most commonly applied on sundecks, is extremely versatile. All flat-roof applications over living-space have been approved by CCMC after Flexstone passed the rigorous testing required. This gives home and building owners an affordable and trustworthy option for roof-deck conversions. In addition to waterproofing, Flexstone also offers a line of poly-aspartic floor coatings that look great and are rock solid.
Eco Friendly:
Every other approved waterproofing product on the market should be torn-off and disposed of once it has expired. This leads to tons of debris in our landfills. In addition to this, sheeted goods like torch-on SBS roofing and vinyl decking have to be trimmed to fit any given job which is also a wasteful antiquated process. Flexstone relies on a solvent-free urethane base coat. This is relevant because solvents present in other urethane systems will dissolve materials like vinyl or chemically react to asphalt. The solvent-free base coat can be applied directly atop of most membranes (including vinyl, fiberglass, torch-on if you apply Flexstone’s primer first, and other urethane coatings). This keeps tons of waste from contributing to wastefulness within the building industry.
The system is also designed to last for upwards of 30 years – significantly longer than vinyl. This lack of turnover, again, leads to less waste. In addition to this, finish coats on the Flexstone system can be installed atop of an old Flexstone surface without tearing off the existing surface.
